Abstract
Large amplitude waves are ubiquitous features in the
ocean and atmosphere, but few mathematical models can describe accurately these
highly nonlinear waves. In this talk, I will review some recent asymptotic and
numerical approaches which show great promise in enhancing our modeling
capability and will discuss possible research topics of current interest.
