CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

On May 22 - 23, 2014, the eleventh Annual Conference on Frontiers in Applied and Computational Mathematics (FACM '14) will be held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark, New Jersey. Sponsored by the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Center for Applied Mathematics and Statistics at NJIT, FACM '14 will bring together a wide diversity of researchers whose interests lie in the development and application of mathematical techniques to address contemporary problems in the applied sciences. There will be plenary sessions, parallel invited minisymposia, and poster sessions.

FACM '14 will focus on the mathematical contributions of our colleague Robert Miura. Many of the plenary and minisymposia topics will be directly tied to work that arose from the seminal contributions of Miura to the field of mathematics. The main areas of focus will be nonlinear waves, completely integrable systems and mathematical biology and biostatistics.
