Location

The Institute will take place in Mar del Plata, Argentina (see Travel and Accomodation for local links).

During summer months (January - February), this half a million city located about 250 miles south of Buenos Aires is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Argentina. During winter months, the city is more quiet but still has plenty to offer, including nice walks along beaches, architecture, museums, excellent restaurants and much more. Additional attractions can be found in the vicinity, including original Argentinian estancias (plantations). The city is safe for tourists and visitors.

In addition, the participants will have a chance to arrange their travel plans so to visit other locations in Argentina. This applies particularly to the city of Buenos Aires which is convenient to visit since the main airport which most of the participants will use is just 20 or so miles from Buenos Aires. Some other interesting locations to visit in Argentina are listed below. Furthermore, all participants will have a chance to visit the city of Tandil, 2 hours away from Mar del Plata, for both scientific (visit to the local University) and tourist reasons.
