Collaborative PhD track
in Applied Mathematics and Physics
between
Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS),
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and
Facultad de Ciencias Exactas (FCEx),
Universidad Nacional del Centro
de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (UNCPBA)

This collaborative PhD track/program will allow PhD candidates to enroll at the same time in the PhD programs of DMS at NJIT and at FCEx at UNCPBA. This program is set up with the main goal of improving interdisciplinary preparation and education of students through increased exposure to scientists from various backgrounds. Through shared course work and joint mentoring, we expect to train future researchers in the fields of mathematics and natural sciences and to prepare them to meet the workforce requirements of the 21st century. The research strengths of our PhD programs are in fluid mechanics, mathematical biology, wave propagation, electromagnetism, and solid state physics.

More information regarding various aspects of this program is available by following the links on the left panel. Initially, the students interested in this program will apply to one of our institutions (FCEx-UNCPBA or DMS-NJIT), and then will be directed on how to apply to this program. We envision that participants will spend at least one academic year at each institution, and possibly longer. Funding of the successful applicants will be organized following the established procedures at both institutions. Those who keep in good academic standing will be fully supported (the support includes fellowship and tuition at both NJIT and UNCPBA).
