Abstract
The use of stochastic models is becoming increasingly widespread in numerous disciplines. In many instances, computer simulation is the most effective means of studying these models. In this talk, I will describe some stochastic models that naturally arise in materials science and some newly developed computational techniques to study these models. Potential scientific opportunities for graduate students will also be discussed.
